Nov./Dec. 08: The Mascot has a name

A special thank you to all of you for taking part in this first challenge.
The challenge was to suggest a name for the Show Me Your World Mascot.
Only basic instructions were provided: the name needed to be short, easy to pronounce in various languages, simple to remember and not offensive to anyone.
Over 60 names have been submitted by participants with fun explanation about why each name was chosen.
In December, everyone was invited to vote for up to three names.
The organizing team had the hard task to choose among the top 5 names. The choice was easier than expected and unanimous because the name with the highest number of votes seemed to meet all the requirements: easy to pronounce, easy to remember and not offensive to anyone.
The Winning Name of the Show Me Your World Mascot is: Shomi
Congratulations to Véronique Garreau who submitted this name.
